Spinach balls

Spinach ballsI fancy myself a bit of a hostess with the most-est. And there’s nothing I love more than having family and friends over and sharing some of my favorite small bites alongside some much-needed adult beverages.

Here’s a recipe for one of my favorite appetizers: spinach and cheese balls. They’re super easy to make and even more delicious to eat. And they’re made with spinach–so they’re healthy, too!

Servings: 30 balls

1 box (9 ounces) frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed to drain
1 cup bisquick™ mix
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 egg
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 cup tomato sauce (optional)

Spinach ballsDirections:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients, except for the tomato sauce.
  3. Shape mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a cookie sheet.
  4. Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown and remove from cookie sheet right away.
  5. Serve with pasta sauce.
